Valentine's Day - Feb 14,2007

Well Valentines Day started out with a Valentine's Day playdate. We had a wonderful time playing with other kids and we had heart shaped cookies and two heart shaped lollipops. Yummy ! At home I had fun taking pictures with mommy. She even let me use the camera. I would say " cheeese" and she would say "smile". I had lots of fun. I had two shirts for Valentine's Day which is fine with me because I love clothes.

Katelyn is 1 -Jan 22 2007

Our little niece/cousin turned 1 on January 22nd. She's just so cute. She looks just like mommy and daddy. The doctor said that she says alot of words for a one year old. I would have to agree. She is also very tall. Well her daddy is 6'2. So we'll see :)

Kathryn was hospitalized Jan 28 -Jan 30 2007

I just wanted to let everyone know that Kathryn was in the hospital briefly with viral pneumonia (spelling?). It was not somethign I wish to go through again. It all started Saturday when we brought her to Urgent Care and they gave her antibiotics for a double ear infection. We noticed her breathing weird on Friday night but it went away Saturday morn and reappered on Saturday night. Then Sunday she was breathing pretty rapidly and using her stomach muscles to help her breathe. I called Urgent Care and they said that she needed more time on the antibiotic. Well anyways we ended up in the ER at Woodwinds on Sunday evening. She had a chest X-ray done and they found the pneumonia and Bronchulitis ( spelling?) which is mucous that plugged up her left lung. She wasn't getting enough oxygen to the left side and the lung had started to fold over because of it. We then got a nice ambulance ride to Children's and she had been on Oxygen till yesterday. Her oxygen had to be above 90 % while she was sleeping anfd it wasn't. We started out at only 88% while she was awake and she needed to be at 98%. So to make a long story short, we're home along with some meds and a nebulizer. I'm glad we took her in when we did.

Kathryn 19 months - January 23, 2007

Well another month has come and gone. Kathryn is just a big ball of energy lately. I swear she literally bounces of of walls. Just kidding ! She gets into everything in sight and refuses to listen when she wants to do what she wants to do. Lately, she's just been a sponge when it comes to words. She says so many now but her latest ones are green, bowl, mine, me, and Elmo. Oh she just adores Elmo's World. She usually likes to sit with nana Newberger to watch him. When he's on she comes speeding into the room like lightning.

Kathryn thinned out quite a bit now. She looks so much like everyone in the family on both sides. I (mommy) had someone tell me that she looks like me today as we were leaving ECFE class. Besides ECFE, Kathryn will be taking a gym class starting February 2nd. I can't wait to go with her. We went to the open house and she loved it. She played on all of the gym equipment, made a snowflake and got to play with moroccas and a xylophone. So much fun!

The mimicing is just so amazing to watch. When mommies vacuuming Kathryn likes to get out her vacuum too. She will turn on the computer and play with the mouse. Like I said " It's just amazing!"

Getting into trouble is just Kathryn's thing. Today she opened up a thing of blue fingerpaints and it went all over the rug. She did this with the yellow paint last month. Oh messes come with toddlers. I just wish I could get clean up instructions and a cheat sheet on how to handle certain situations.

We got Kathryn a potty chair. She has been showing signs of knowing when she tinkles. Also she is trying to put her leg over the side of her crib. Which means getting a toddler bed soon too. It's just so much at once.

Oh our little girl just loves to talk even if there is noone on the other end. She's just so cute ! Kathryn gave nana Newberger a kiss over the phone once but we haven't been able to get her to do it again. And Kathryn will jibber jabber to nana Leary like there's no tomorrow. Usually we have to chase Kathryn to get the phone back :)

New Years Day - Sledding

Kathryn was very excited to go sledding for the first time. As many of you know Kathryn was only 6 months old last Christmas. Well anyways, Kathryn just loved sledding. We heard her say "Weeeeeee" one time. Mommy and daddy took turns pulling Kathryn.

Our silly little girl ! You always make us laugh. Kathryn is such a comedian. She does things like sitting in a pot or feeding her play animals. It's also very CUTE ! Kathryn recently went for her 18 month appointment and now is 32 1/2 inches and weighs 23 lbs. She's getting so big.

Kathryn with her new art desk. We color almost daily, not always on paper though. We have a couple of works of art around the house already.

Kathryn has been doing well this month. She is now saying "Here you go" and gives things to people constantly. It's so cute ! She also says "Yummy ! Yummy ! Yummy ! when she's eating or when she's about to eat. She will even get into her highchair by herself now.

I think she's getting into the terrible twos early. She refuses to sit in a cart or stroller and would rather walk. Changing her diaper is a chore and even naps and bedtime is a hassle. So right now she's a handful as I am sure alot of children are.

On a better note she loves being read to and just looking at books is one of her favorite things to do. She copies alot of things mommy and daddy does. She loves the vacuum and helping pick things up.

Even more teeth! Kathryn is getting her canine teeth now so she has been in even more pain with her molars still groing in and all from last month.

Halloween 2006 - Kathryn

Well, Halloween went well for all of us. We had many trick-or-treaters. Kathryn would run to the door everytime the doorbell rang to see the kids all dressed up and to here them say "trick-or-treat". Finally, we decided to take her out to a few neighboring houses. She really liked it. She tried to go into one persons' house. We let her have one piece of chocolate and saved the lollipops for later.

Kathryn 16 months - October 23, 2006

Well our little angel is definately gowing. lately she's been climbing into and onto everything. She's so funny ! kathryn got four molers this month. Poor thing was up in pain alot of nights. Of course, either mommy or daddy were right there with her trying to comfort her. We are using utensils alot and we are trying to make the use of a cup more frequent. Kathryn has begun to play with dolls and tries to feed them and pats their backs. She loves doll strollers, with or without a doll in there. Ha ha ! She is doing well with talking. She points alot but were trying to get her to use words. She will repeat every now and again. Lately it's been GO ! GO ! GO !. From the moment she wakes up. She is definately an active one. We love you Kathryn !

Didn't take any pictures while we were there but we'll try to ask family for some. We were so busy going to visit family that pictures were kind of forgotten about.

I can't believe I almost forgot this one.

We went to a neighboring city to go see a parade. kathryn got to ride in her wagon. She wore a festive outfit.We had fun up until the fire engines made Kathryn cry. Very Loud. On the bright side we got popsicles and candy. Yummy !

Here's our little one with daddy's boonie hat on. She was so funny just hiding behind the hat. She was more interested in playing with pens than paying attention to mommy. It seems to be the way things are lately.

Kathryn- 13 months

Hello all. Time for an update on our little angel. Well lately she has been testing boundaries and I would hardly call her an angel However, she is a cutie in other ways. She loves the Dr. Seuss board books for babies. She can say Go Dogs Go ! which is a titel of one of the books and is repeated in the book as well. She says baby alot and points to the baby in her ABC book. She has a love of animals that is just oh so sweet. She says MMMMM ! for a cow sound and growls whenever she sees other animals. We take her to the zoo regularly and it's time to take another trip.

Kathryn is doing well as far as her bottles. We have her on one bottle for bedtime and she gets sippy cups throughout the day. She has her own bowl and utensils for dinner now. She does try and use the fork and spoon. It's so cute to watch. She's growing up before our eyes.
