Kathryn's 1st Birthday Party - June 24, 2006

Well babe, the party was a blast. You had so much fun watching all fo the other kids play with the balloons. Of course, we gave you one too. You just love balloons. Cake again ! What a mess AGAIN. This time we had Bright pink trimming on the cake and boy you were pink by the time you were done. Presents were a blast for you to open. You wouldn't let one go to open the next. everyone sang happy birthday to you again and you just cheered them on clapping and shouting Yaaaahhh! I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

Happy 1st Birthday Kathryn !!!! Mommy and Daddy came into your bedroom this morning to wish you a happy birthday as soon as you got up. It was so cute how you just flashed us a smile like you new it was your birthday.

We decided to have a cake tonight just for the family. Mommy got a great picture of you with the whole piece of cake in your hand and your smooshing it into your mouth. What a mess to clean up but it was worth it. You love the happy birthday song but unfortunately your birthday only comes once a year and I don't want to confuse you by singing it all of the time. Also, I don't know if you'll expect presents or cake afterwards. Ha ha !

Oh Iforgot to mention how your developing. You're 21lbs 1314ozs and 29.5 inches. Also, you are now on all milk, no formula anymore. Your on mostly table food but there are some baby foods that you still eat to get enough nutrition and they make for great snacks. You can now stand by yourself for 10-20 seconds. I caught you standing in the kitchen waving at the trash one day. How cute ! Your also trying to bear crawl still. It's adorable to see with your heinie in the air. Keep it up babe! We've definatley been cheering you on. Your sayig a couple morewords now like Uh Oh and Yum. We're trying to make you say the name of things before we'll give them to you. You've been pointing so much and making sounds that we are naming things or you so you can learn what to call them. You love conversations. You'll say just about anythingto give responses to questions.

Father's Day - June 18, 2006

Daddy woke up to a wonderful present from you. A picture of you on a Harley. Daddy was very excited and we put it on the mantel for everyone to view. Daddy also wished he could have been there for the photo shoot. There was a picture of you with the Harley Bear as well and then we had some regular pictures of you taken for records. They were all so adorable but what do you expect from such an adorable baby.

We went to the Como Zoo again and this time you were very interested in the animals. The Giraffes and Zebras were out this time for you to view. I think that you really enjoyed the Polar Bears most of all. We also saw a Sea Lion Show and you were so happy that you got to clap and say Yaaaaahhh !. It was so cute to watch you participate.

My little Lady ! You are taking steps by yourself now and can stand for seconds by yourself too. We're very excited to see you walk even though we know we'll be chasing you soon. You are almost on all table food now. You are great with sippy cups, handles or no handles. Your little tummy still can't take milk but we're trying. You love your walks to the park and spending time in the grass with mommy. everything is still dada even though you can say many more words.

My dear sweet girl, oh how you love to play. You fight with me over the camera even though you have lots of toys to play with. You will roam around the blanket but the grass is a foreign land to you. Hopefully you'll start to venture more and understand the world is your playground.

Kathryn just loved the swings at the park. She wasn't too thrilled about the sand, grass and dandelions though. Poor thing she would cry as soon as we put her on the ground. Maybe we'll have better luck next time.

Wow ! Two months to go till your first birthday little girl. Mommy and Daddy are very proud of you. You are eating people food on a daily basis now. One of your favorite foods is Lasagna besides spaghetti with meat sauce. Yummy ! Yummy ! We're thinking you'll be walking any day now. You can hold on to things with only one hand now and move around. Good Job !!!!

Kathryn 9 months- Spring / Easter pictures

Today our little girl turned 9 months old. It is amazing how fast they grow. People tell you and you never truly understand until you have one of your own. Kathryn has been making lots of progress with her teeth. She has 2 on the bottom so far but she is also growing in 4 on the top all at once right now. Poor thing ! It looks painful. Kathryn has also been walking along furniture, pulling things off of shelves and opening drawers. Uh Oh ! She's been eating new things lately, including pasta, bread and other soft table food. She uses her sippy cup to wash the food down afterwards. So that concludes our 9 month briefing. See you next month or sooner.

March 17th - St.Patrick's Day

St.Patrick's Day was a blast we went to a playdate and ate all green food. It was lots of fun and so many kids to play with. Mommy and grandma worked on a Greenbean Casserole the night before. Kathryn couldn't have any of the casserole but it was yummy.

Update on Kathryn

Kathryn is doing great !!! She can stand and cruise along holding on to the furniture. Sometimes, she even just likes to stand up at daddy's chair so she can pound on it. Ha Ha !!! She opens and closes drawers just to have something to do. She crawls all over the place that it is always hard to keep an eye on her. My little Wonderer. Kathryn waves hi and bye to everyone and everything. She still has a fascination with lights and ceiling fans. Oh boy ! Talking is another one of Kathryn's passions. She can just talk forever even if you can't hold a conversation, she can. Putting words together is something new for her. If she wants a bottle she says "mama baba" or "baba mama". How cute :) Kathryn started to come to mama when she gets tired. She is still has a case of seperation anxiety though, not wanting mama to leave the room. It's tough but I find a way around it by distracting her with talking toys while I head into the kitchen or to the bathroom real quick while she plays in her saucer. kathryn also loves to play with her Leap frog table and the horn on her ride on/stand up walker. Beep! Beep! Eating is another favorite pass time for her. She eats fruits, veggies, cereal, veggie and fruit puffs, and her meat meals. Yummy ! Yummy ! I give her some table food too sometimes if I know she can swallow it. When Kathryn wants to eat she says "eat" or "hungy". How funny ! When Kathryn is looking for me or David she will call for "ma", "mama", "dada", or "daddy". She can also say "nana". Besides talking Kathryn makes lots of noises and faces too. The raspberries, the yelling, the fake coughing and the sniffling is so adorable. I always ask myself " What would I do without her?" She is the highlight of my life. My little ray of sunshine. She definatley makes me smile, especially when she plays peek-a-boo in her saucer.

Kathryn and Mommy had a great time at the Mall of America . The Teddy Bear Band was there and we sang and danced. Afterwards Mommy and Kathryn had lunch with their friends. It was a big table with 9 kids and 8 adults. It was a wonderful day and they enjoyed every minute of it.

February 23, 2005 - Kathryn 8 months

Here is our little cutie pie. She is getting so big I can hardly believ it. We just bought her a ride - on walker. She stands up with it and can sit on it. It also has toys in the front and is musical. It also has a horn to beep. Beep! Beep! Daddy was like a kid in the candy store when it came to buying something for kathryn. kathryn fell in love with a little piano that looks likea xylophone on the top. She was playing with it all through the store and all night.

Kathryn also says "nana" now. Let's add it to her list of words. I think nana makes 5 because kathryn says "hungy" for hungry too.

February 20, 2006 - Kathryn's Standing

Oh Wow!!! Our little girl is standing! Kathryn is so excited to see her new surroundings. Unfortunately last ngiht she didn't know how to get back down. She sort of plopped back onto the floor. Mommy and Daddy are excited to see their little one stand. Soon she'll be chasing the other kids.

February 17, 2006 - Kathryn's First Tooth

Kathryn has been cranky for days and this morning we found out why. She has her first tooth coming in. She has been doing better with sleeping now that it has started making it's way through. I thought she might not ever get teeth. I know I worry too much. Now when she gets her other teeth in I 'll know the signs.

I'll put up pictures when her tooth is finally in.

Febuary 14, 2006 - Valentine's Day

Mommy dressed Kathryn in red today. Of Course ! She was so cute with a white bow in her hair. Grandma Leary sent Kathryn some Valentine's Day gifts but they arrived a day late. She really loved the little purse. Although she can't use it, she sure did chew on it. What is it with red and pink with you? Mommy's pretty little princess.

Super Bowl Sunday - Febuary 5, 2006

Today Kathryn watched her first Super Bowl. She seems to enjoy watching football. I think she enjoyed the Yellow "Terrible Towel" even more. Kathryn stared at grandma everytime she would yell at the tv but grandma was excited to see the Steelers win the game 21-10. Poor Seahawks they never stood a chance.
